Alex Forte (Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor) qualified for the USA TRIATHLON AGE-GROUP NATIONAL Championship in Portland, OR – September 21, 2008
What is a triathlon anyway?
A race that includes swimming, cycling, and running without rest or outside assistance.
“You see, in order to do triathlons, you have to be a little bit masochistic.” (Chris Allen, step-father)
What does “age-group” mean?
Basically, another way of saying “amateur” (meaning, not professional . . . yet).
What’s so important about the national championship?
Well . . . it consists of the top amateur triathletes in the country. And . . . the top 8 individuals in each age-group win a spot in the 2009 World Championship (which will be held on the Gold Coast of Australia!!! P.s. The World Championship is where people can qualify for the 2012 Olympic Trials).
So, why are you fundraising?
Although Gold’s Gym will partially sponsor Alex for this event, she is hoping to raise enough money to help cover the remaining travel, hotel, transportation, and other expenses for this trip. Please try to support her in any way that you can!
